Marldon secures future with 23,500ft2 Warehouse Buy
Marldon purchased a factory and warehouse premises at Commerce Way, off Purley Way, Croydon, in November ’17 and have since obtained planning permission to divide the premises into two industrial units. The permission includes alterations for a new steel portal frame insulated roof and insulated cladding to external walls. The development works are due to complete in June this year whereupon we will ourselves occupy space of approximately 17,000 ft2 with the second self-contained unit of approximately 9000 ft2 available to let.
Funding for the purchase and development has been provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland with whom we have a long standing and beneficial relationship. It is an important and exciting step for Marldon to have purchased a servicing and factory premises and secures its future in this respect.
The 17,000 ft2 space for our own occupation will be the new home of Marldon Joinery and our own laundry facility. The joinery will vacate their current leased premises in Earlsfield and set up shop in Commerce Way which will provide the increased space and amenities they need going forward.
The state of the art laundry facility will service The Rockwell and Rockwell East hotels as well as other serviced apartment buildings owned by Marldon. The joinery and laundry will both be fully staffed by Marldon employees.
The 9000 ft2 second unit will be to let and available for occupation in June this year. It will provide excellent industrial space and include a 6m wide roller shutter door giving access to the ground floor warehouse space of around 8000 ft2. There are also first floor offices of around 1000 ft2. The premises will be built to meet all current regulations with facilities to allow immediate occupation. We expect the unit will be of interest as a distribution warehouse, trade counter premises or manufacturing facility, all enquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org
