History

Formed in 1968 by Tony Bartlett and Mervyn Dunnington-Jefferson, the partnership started life as a small building company, working for private clients of residential houses. In the late 1960s and early ’70s Marldon grew its client base, and over time we acquired a small property portfolio.

As our reputation grew, we began a long association with Maktoum family of the United Arab Emirates. Developments for the Maktoum’s included work on the Carlton Towers Hotel in Knightsbridge and a host of private houses in Belgravia and Kensington.

This association continued until the mid-1990s when we began to focus on our own projects, which were (and continue to be) financed in partnership with The Royal Bank of Scotland. During the 1990s, Marldon began to diversify into commercial space, having acquired a large residential property portfolio.

In the 21st century Marldon has branched out into hotel and serviced apartment management and we continue to expand our commercial and residential portfolio. The future for Marldon is bright, as we continue to purchase sites for development and maximise revenues from our portfolio.
